1. Introduction

Welcome to TROPE ("TROPE", "the App", "we", "us", or "our").

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TROPE mobile application and related services provided by FAC-Technology Limited.

FAC-Technology Limited is a company incorporated in the United Kingdom and operates the TROPE dating application.

By creating an account, accessing, or using TROPE, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not create an account or use the App.

2. Eligibility

TROPE is intended exclusively for individuals aged 18 years or older.

By using TROPE, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;

  • you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms;

  • all information provided by you is accurate and truthful;

  • you will comply with applicable laws and regulations.

TROPE does not permit access or use by individuals under the age of 18.

If we reasonably believe that a user is under 18, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account.

3. About TROPE

TROPE is a social dating application designed to connect users through profile discovery, matching, and group interactions.

The App allows users to:

  • create a dating profile;

  • discover other users;

  • express interest in other profiles;

  • participate in group conversations;

  • exchange messages, photographs, videos, and audio content.

TROPE does not guarantee that users will find a match, relationship, friendship, or any particular outcome.

4. Account Creation

To use TROPE, you must create an account through supported authentication methods, including:

  • Apple Sign-In;

  • Google Sign-In.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication account.

You agree that:

  • you will not share access to your account;

  • you will not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions;

  • you will not impersonate another person;

  • you will provide accurate information.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate accounts created with false, misleading, or fraudulent information.

5. Your Profile

When creating your profile, you may provide information including:

  • name or display name;

  • age information;

  • gender;

  • sexual orientation;

  • dating preferences;

  • location;

  • photographs;

  • quotes;

  • stickers.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is appropriate and lawful.

You must not:

  • provide another person's information;

  • upload photographs of another person without permission;

  • misrepresent your identity;

  • create a misleading profile.

6. User Content

For the purpose of these Terms, "User Content" means all content you upload, submit, send, or display through TROPE, including:

  • profile information;

  • photographs;

  • quotes;

  • messages;

  • videos;

  • audio recordings.

You retain ownership of your User Content.

By uploading User Content to TROPE, you grant FAC-Technology Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • host;

  • store;

  • reproduce;

  • process;

  • display;

  • distribute;

your User Content solely for the purposes of:

  • operating TROPE;

  • providing the service;

  • improving safety;

  • moderating content;

  • maintaining the platform.

This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is necessary for legal, safety, or technical reasons.

7. Public Profile Information

Certain information is visible to other users.

Depending on your profile settings and TROPE functionality, other users may see:

  • your display name;

  • age;

  • gender;

  • sexual orientation;

  • photographs;

  • quotes;

  • stickers;

  • location information;

  • distance information.

You acknowledge that information shared publicly within the App may be viewed by other TROPE users.

You should only share information you are comfortable making available.

8. Messaging and Group Conversations

TROPE includes group-based interactions.

When you participate in a group conversation:

  • other members of that group may see your profile;

  • users may exchange text messages, photographs, videos, and audio content.

You are responsible for your communications.

You must not use messaging features to:

  • harass;

  • threaten;

  • abuse;

  • intimidate;

  • distribute illegal content;

  • send unwanted commercial communications.

9. User Conduct

You agree that you will not use TROPE to:

Illegal or Harmful Content

Upload, share, or distribute:

  • illegal content;

  • hateful content;

  • extremist content;

  • terrorist-related content;

  • content promoting violence;

  • child sexual abuse material;

  • sexually explicit content involving minors.

Harassment and Abuse

You must not:

  • threaten other users;

  • engage in harassment;

  • bully or intimidate others;

  • engage in discriminatory behaviour;

  • repeatedly contact users who do not wish to interact.

Fraud and Misrepresentation

You must not:

  • impersonate another person;

  • create fake identities;

  • engage in scams;

  • request money from users;

  • manipulate users for financial gain.

Platform Abuse

You must not:

  • attempt to interfere with TROPE systems;

  • introduce malicious software;

  • attempt unauthorized access;

  • scrape or collect user information;

  • misuse the App.

10. Content Moderation

TROPE uses a combination of automated tools and human moderation to maintain a safe environment.

We may use technologies including:

  • Amazon Rekognition;

  • Amazon Bedrock Guardrails.

These technologies assist in identifying potentially prohibited content.

We may review, remove, restrict, or disable access to content that violates these Terms.

11. Reporting and Safety

Users may report other users whose behaviour or content violates these Terms.

When a user is reported:

  • the reported profile may no longer appear in the reporting user's discovery feed;

  • our moderation team may review the reported user's profile;

  • relevant content from group interactions may be reviewed where necessary.

A report does not automatically mean that a violation has occurred.

Our moderation team will assess the circumstances and may take actions including:

  • no action;

  • requesting changes;

  • removing content;

  • restricting functionality;

  • suspending an account;

  • permanently terminating an account.

12. Moderation Decisions

We reserve the right to take moderation action where we reasonably believe a user has:

  • violated these Terms;

  • endangered other users;

  • abused the platform;

  • created a safety risk.

We are not required to provide access to all internal moderation processes.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • you breach these Terms;

  • your behaviour creates risks for users;

  • you provide false information;

  • you misuse the platform;

  • required by law.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice before termination. However, immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect users or the platform.

14. Account Deletion

You may delete your account through the App.

When you request deletion:

  • your profile becomes unavailable to other users;

  • deletion begins;

  • you may cancel deletion during the deletion period by accessing your account.

Deletion is generally completed within 30 days.

Some information may be retained where necessary for:

  • legal obligations;

  • fraud prevention;

  • safety;

  • enforcement of these Terms.

15. Intellectual Property

All rights relating to TROPE, including:

  • software;

  • design;

  • trademarks;

  • logos;

  • features;

  • underlying technology;

are owned by or licensed to FAC-Technology Limited.

You may not:

  • copy;

  • modify;

  • distribute;

  • reverse engineer;

  • exploit;

any part of TROPE without written permission.

16. Third-Party Services

TROPE relies on third-party services, including:

  • authentication providers;

  • cloud infrastructure providers;

  • advertising providers.

Your use of these services may also be subject to the third parties' own terms and policies.

FAC-Technology Limited is not responsible for the independent operation of third-party services.

17. Advertising and Future Paid Features

TROPE is currently available free of charge.

We may introduce:

  • premium accounts;

  • subscriptions;

  • additional features;

  • paid services.

If paid services are introduced, we will provide clear information regarding:

  • pricing;

  • payment terms;

  • renewal;

  • cancellation rights.

18. Safety Disclaimer

TROPE helps users connect online.

However:

  • we do not verify every user's identity;

  • we do not perform criminal background checks;

  • we cannot guarantee that every user is genuine;

  • we cannot control user behaviour outside the App.

You are responsible for exercising appropriate caution when interacting with others.

If you meet another user offline, you should take reasonable safety precautions.

19. No Guarantee of Results

TROPE does not guarantee:

  • matches;

  • conversations;

  • friendships;

  • relationships;

  • compatibility between users.

The availability of users and features may change over time.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FAC-Technology Limited shall not be liable for:

  • indirect damages;

  • loss of profits;

  • loss of data;

  • reputational damage;

  • user behaviour;

  • interactions between users.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, death, personal injury caused by negligence, or other mandatory legal protections.

21. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify FAC-Technology Limited against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • your breach of these Terms;

  • your User Content;

  • your misuse of TROPE;

  • your violation of applicable laws.

22. Changes to TROPE

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of TROPE at any time.

Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are significant, we will notify users through appropriate means, including:

  • in-app notifications;

  • updated publication date;

  • other reasonable communication methods.

Your continued use of TROPE after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Privacy

Your personal information is processed according to our Privacy Policy.

By using TROPE, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and understood our Privacy Policy.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.

However, if you are a consumer residing in another jurisdiction, you may benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

26. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

27. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional policies published by TROPE, constitute the agreement between you and FAC-Technology Limited regarding use of the App.
